How long have you been in business?
American Boat Supply has been providing southern california boaters with expert propeller sales and service since 2012.
What is your primary product or service?
Our primary service is being able to recommend and provide the correct propeller for our customers specific boating application. Troubleshooting the overall performance of the boat, to determine why the vessel isn't performing as it should , and then, through correct propeller selection, we are able to improve our customer's boating experience. We are able to service propellers and get them back to factory specifications, at a significant savings for our customers. Because we service props, we are expert at recommending which brand and style will benefit them most. Three and four blade options for fishing is one area we are currently focusing on. To be able to have the boat stay on plane with less throttle for better cruising efficiency and fuel consumption. These just some of the advantages of having a knowledgeable prop tech from American Boat Supply set you up with the right prop at the right price.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I first became interested in boating when I was about nine. Spending most summers in my Dad's propeller shop gave me an early start to recreational boating on Newport Harbor. This was back when we could actually water ski in the Back Bay here in Newport. Times have changed, but not my desire to make boats go faster or work better. I truly enjoy it when my customers tell me how much better their boats perform after visiting our shop.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Unlike some of these internet companies that dont actually take the necessary time nor possess the knowledge required, we listen to lur customers so as to best be able to provide them with the right prop or battery for their boat. I think that we are set apart by our immersion in the marine propulsion industry. I actually care if their boat works better with a propeller I sold to them. They usually come back for their next purchase or service because of our commitment and follow up. We like our customers. Hopefully they like us as well.
